Ni Putu Novia Faryanti Dewi, perupa asal Denpasar ini tergolong masih belia, namun karya lukisnya biasa bersanding dengan para perupa senior. Ide lukisnya sangat berani, goresan lugas dan pemilihan warna pas, menunjukan ia seorang perupa yang memiliki pengalaman berkarya cukup tinggi. “Saya memilih menjadi perupa, karena seorang perupa itu berani dan jujur akan dirinya. Seseorang yang berani untuk mengemukakan pendapat pribadinya secara visual,” katanya serius.
Gadis kelahiran, Denpasar 25 November 1997 ini lebih cenderung pada lukisan bergaya modern dengan aliran suryalisme. Walau demikian, ia juga membuat karya lukis beraliran naturalis. “Setiap orang sesungguhnya bisa melukis secara baik, tetapi tidak setiap orang mampu mengembangkannya. Jadi, langkah awal untuk melukis yang baik itu, adalah membangun sebuah minat diri kepada lukisan itu,” ungkap salah satu anggota Perupa Perempuan Bali (PPB) ini.
Dalam berkarya, gadis jebolan S1 Seni Rupa ISI Denpasar itu mengaku setiap gaya dan aliran itu masing-masing memiliki tingkat kesulitan. Karena itu, ia biasa menggunakan mood kalau ingin berkarya. “Lukisan itu, tidak selalu memakai banyak warna. Ada banyak lukisan yang tidak memiliki warna, namun terihat bagus dan enak dipandang,” papar relawan lukis untuk anak-anak autism yang pernah berpameran di Balai Budaya Bali, Musium Puri Lukisan, Art Center dan ikut Festival Kesenian Indonesia di Surabaya.
Putri dari pasangan I Made Suparta (ayah) dan Ni Made Wiyanti (ibu) ini sudah menghasilkan segudang karya seni lukis. Itu karena, ia rajin melukis. Namun, dari semua karya itu, ia paling suka dengan karya lukis berjudul Pertiwiku yang Terancam, Pesan Pembawa Harapan, Bertempur dan Menunggu. “Beberapa lukisan itu dibuat dalam rangka untuk mengikuti kompetisi Youngart di Ubud,” ucap peraih juara III Lomba Mahut Seru Undiksa, Juara Harapan III dan Harapa II pada Lomba Young art #1 Ubud dan Young art #3.
Gadis kalem yang tinggal di Jln. Pulau Bantanga Tang III No. 1 Denpasar mengaku, ia dulunya bercita-cita menjadi guru tari. Namun dalam kesehariannya, ia justru aktif menggambar. “Saya suka menggambar sejak TK. Ayah dan ibu, juga melihat bakat saya dibidang lukis, makanya langsung melanjutkan ke sekolah seni lukis saja. Saya tidak kesampaian menjadi guru tari, tetapi kini mempunyai jadwal mengajar les privat menggambar dari rumah kerumah,” aku gadis yang sempat menimba ilmu di SMSR (SMK Negeri 1 Sukawati) ini polos.
Menurut Novia Faryanti Dewi, dirinya menggeluti dunia seni, bukan berdasarkan keturunan. Hanya saja, bapak dari ibu menguasai seni sastra Bali dibidang kekawin, nyurat lontar, dan metembang. “Manfaatnya bisa melukis itu banyak sekali. Salah satunya mengungkapkan sesuatu dari visual, menghilangkan stres, dan curhat melalui goresan. Artinya, membuat lukisan itu, selain untuk kita juga untuk orang lain,” pungkasnya. (AD/Ar)
