Ngerebeg, Tradisi Khas di Desa Adat Tegal : Proteksi Wabah Penyakit dan Pengaruh Negatif
Wraspati kliwon wuku langkir hampir seluruh warga masyarakat Desa Adat Tegal, Abiansemal, Badung, Bali, tumpah ruah ke Pura Dalem atau yang lebih populer disebut Pura Gede.Mereka berpakaian sembahyang dan ekspresi wajahnya tampak sangat bergembira. Sungguh pemandangan yang menakjubkan. Hari itu krama Desa Adat Tegal sedang menggelar ritual Ngerebeg. Sorak sorai bergemuruh disertai bunyi gambelan menjadikan suasana desa sangat meriah, ramai, dan tentunya kental dengan nuansa kesakralannya. Ngerebeg dilaksanakan setiap enam bulan sekali sertamasih serangkaian dengan perayaan Galungan dan Kuningan, tepatnya pada hari kamis, lima hari setelah hari raya Kuningan.
Ngerebeg berasal dari kata gerebeg/grebeg yang artinya berjejal (orang banyak), riuh, bergemuruh.Para tetua di desa yang sempat penulis wawancarai beberapa tahun silam sekitar tahun 2012 mengatakan bahwa, istilah ngerebeg memiliki arti yang sama dengan kata ngerebak atau ngerejeg yang berarti ‘besar-besaran’.Berdasarkan arti tersebut dan dilihat dari prosesi pelaksanaannya, maka ngerebeg dapat dimaknai sebagai suatu upacara yang dilakukan secara besar-besaran serta melibatkan seluruh krama desa dari delapan banjar yang ada di desa itu. Warga dari tiap-tiap banjar tersebut telah dijadwalkan secara bergantian (setiap enam bulan sekali) oleh pihak prajuru desa adat, baik sebagai pangiring barong sasuhunan, banjar pengramen/ngeramaiang,dan lain-lainnya, mulai dari awal sampai berakhirnya ritual ngerebeg. Bahkan tak jarang jika ada warga setempat yang tinggal diluar desa ataupun telah menikah keluar desa, maka akan selalu berusaha menyempatkan diri pulang untuk mengikuti upacara ini. Tujuan utama dari ritual ini ialah untuk memohon keselamatan kepada Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa/betara-betari sasuhunan, agar seluruh warga desa diberikan perlindungan, kemakmuran, dan terhindar dari wabah penyakit maupun mara bahaya. Tempat pelaksanaan ritual ngerebeg dipusatkan di Pura Gede (Pura Dalem Batan Dulang), Desa Adat Tegal, tepatnya di Bale Agung.
Oleh masyarakat setempat, ngerebeg sering pula disebut wraspatingepik atau wraspatipangepikan. Ngepik artinya menghitung. Hal ini tentunya berkaitan erat dengan adanya suatu prosesi dalam ritual ngerebeg yang disebuttek cor, yaitu cara(sistem cacah jiwa/sensus) yang dilakukan untuk mengetahui atau menghitung jumlah penduduk(krama)Desa Adat Tegal. Dahulunya dalam tek cor ini setiap keluargamelaporkan jumlah anggota keluarganya dengan menghaturkan jinah bolong(uang kepeng), dimana tiap-tiap orang dihitung satu keping jinah bolong. Ini berarti setiap keluarga menghaturkan uang kepengsesuai dengan jumlah anggota keluarganya masing-masing. Berdasarkan jumlah dari seluruh uang kepeng yang terkumpul, maka dapat diketuhui pula jumlah penduduk desa. Namun kini, oleh karena keberadaan uang kepeng asli ‘cukup sulit’ danseiring perkembangan serta perjalanan waktu, uang kepeng tersebut seringkali diganti dengan uang rupiah.
Di dalam upacara ngerebeg terdapat iring-iringan (arak-arakan) benda-benda pusaka berupa pengawin(tombak atau panji-panji kebesaran yang bergambarkan dewata nawa sanga/sejenisnya), keris pusaka, danberbagai macam bentuk barong mulai dari barong ket, barong bangkal, barong macan, barong landung, hingga rangda yang diusung beramai-ramai mengelilingi desa selama prosesi berlangsung. Barong dan rangdayang ditarikan dalam prosesi ngerebeg ini merupakan sasuhunan(disakralkan) sertadisungsung dibeberapa pura kahyangan di desa itu dan sangat dikeramatkan oleh masyarakat setempat. Sebelum upacara ngerebeg di mulai, seluruh barong maupun rangda dari masing-masing pura akan disthanakan di Bale Agung.
Secara keseluruhan jumlah sasuhunan atau sungsungan yang ada dalam ritual ngerebeg,yaitu: delapan barong yang terdiri dari: satu barong ket, tiga barong bangkal, dua barong macan, satu pasang atau dua barong landung (lanang-istri). Kemudian terdapatdua rangda, satu rarung, dan sepuluh sisia. Di dalam prosesi Ngerebeg ini, ketika seluruh petapakanbarong, rangda, dan keris pusaka telah melinggih (distanakan) di Bale Agung, maka ritual pun dimulai sekitar pukul 15.00 Wita. Namun sebelumnya, sekitar pukul 13.30 Wita barongmaupun rangda sasuhunan itu terlebih dahulu telah diusung (lunga)menuju Bale Agung.
Upacara ini diawali dengan menghaturkan sesaji berupa perasdaksina atau pejati, segehan agung, dan penyambleh kucit butuan (persembahan berupa anak babi, biasanya berwarna hitam) yang dipandu oleh belasan pemangku. Setelah mantra-mantra yang diiringi dentingan bunyi bajra selesai dipanjatkan, ritual kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pemotongan penyambleh kucit butuan yang dipotong dengan sebilah keris. Darah yang ada pada bagian kepala penyambleh itu kemudian dioleskan pada prerai/tapel(di bagian dagu) dari tiap-tiap barong,rangda, dan sisia, sertapada keris pusaka. Darah tersebut dapat dimaknai sebagai simbol sakralisasi pada petapakan ida betara atau barong sasuhunan.
Setelah prosesi menghaturkan sesaji itu selesai, acara dilanjutkan dengan persembahyangan bersama. Seluruh krama desa mengikuti persembahyangan dengan penuh hikmat. Areal pura yang luas itu pun bagaikan ‘lautan manusia’, penuh disesaki oleh krama yang begitu antusias mengikuti ritual, mulai dari area utama mandala (jeroan pura), madya mandala (jabatengah), nista mandala (jaba sisi), bahkan hingga sampai memenuhi badan jalan yang berada di depan (jaba) pura. Selesai bersembahyang kramadiberikan nunas tirta (air suci)dan bija (biji beras yang telah direndam air)oleh para pemangku pura. Uniknya ialah bija pada ritual ngerebeg ini dicampurkan dengan darah dari penyambleh kucit butuan, sehingga warnanya menjadi agak kemerahan.
Ritual ini merupakan salah satu bentuk upacara Dewa Yadnya dan Bhuta Yadnya yang pelaksanaannya melibatkan seluruh elemen masyarakat desa. Tata pelaksanaan prosesi ritual ini terdiri dari beberapa tahapan, yaitu:Ngiasin, yakni menghias barong dan rangda sasuhunan dengan bunga cempaka di sthananya masing-masing. Tiap-tiap barong maupun rangda sasuhunan itu penuh dihiasi bunga cempaka yang jumlahnya bisa mencapai ratusan bahkan mungkin ribuanserta dipadukan dengan bunga anggrek dan mawar. Aroma wangi semerbak yang dihembuskan senantiasa memperkuat nuansa magis dari ritual ini. Mamendak ialah prosesi menjemput betara sungsungan(barong dan rangda sasuhunan)di sthananya masing-masing untuk diusung (lunga) menuju ke Bale Agung dengan diiringi tetabuhan baleganjur. Pujawali, yakni persembahan sesajen kepada betara-betari yang dipandu oleh pemangku dan dilanjutkan dengan persembahyangan. Murwadaksina atau Mapurwadaksina, ialah prosesi dimana keris pusaka, barong,dan rangda sasuhunanberputar (searah perputaran jarum jam) mengelilingi Bale Agung sebanyak tiga kali yang diawali arak-arakan pangawin (tombak/panji-panji). Prosesi ini diiringi tetabuhan menggunakan gambelan gong kebyar dengan gending gilak dan kale. Ngunya, yakni prosesi seluruh barong, rangda,dan keris pusaka mengelilingi wewidangan atau wilayah desa (diawali dengan arak-arakan pengawin) dengan menyusuri jalan-jalan desa atau bagianterluar dari desaserta diiringi gambelan baleganjur.
Pada prosesi ngunya,seluruh barong, rangda, dan keris pusakaitu juga dihaturkan sesaji (segehan cacahan) di setiap pura kahyangan yang tersebar di wilayah Desa Adat Tegal. Ngunyadimulai dari Pura Gede yang menjadi pusat berlangsungnya ritual (berada disisi timur desa), selanjutnya menuju ke Pura Dalem Gegelangyang letaknya cukup berdekatan dengan Pura Gede (disebelah barat), lalu menuju ke Catus Pata atau perempatan agung desa. Dari CatusPata kemudian ke arah utara menuju Pura Desa Kaja/Abandan Pura Puseh Kaja/Aban serta ke Pura Dalem Kaja/Aban dan Pura Ntegana, lalu kembali keselatan menuju Pura Prajapati Alit(bertempat di Setra Alit) yang berada disisi barat desa dan berlanjut ke selatan menuju Pura Dalem Pesanggaran. Dari Pura Dalem Pesanggaran dilanjutkan ke arah timur menuju Pura Puseh, kemudian ke utara menuju Pura Prajapati Agung (bertempat di Setra Agung/Setra Gede) dan kembali lagi ke Pura Gede. Terakhir, usai prosesi ngunya(sekitar pukul 19.30-an Wita), barong dan rangdasasuhunanitu pun kembalibudalke sthananya masing-masing diiringi dengan gambelan baleganjur.
Prosesi ritual ngerebeg ini merupakan ciri atau identitas dari Desa Adat Tegal yang menjadi suatu kebanggaan dan memiliki makna tersendiri dalam kehidupan sosial masyarakatnya.Dalam konteks spiritual, ngerebeg memiliki fungsi utama, yaitu sebagai sarana ritual yang bertujuan untuk memohon berkah dan keselamatan serta menetralisir kekuatan-kekuatan negatif (nyomia bhuta kala) untuk dapat menjadi kekuatan positif (kedewataan). Ritual ini dipercayai oleh masyarakat dapat memproteksi dari segala bentuk wabah penyakit, maupun pengaruh-pengaruh negatif lainnya.
Dilihat dari konteks sosialnya,ngerebeg dapat menjadi media untuk mempererat dan mempersatukan masyarakat desa diantara keanekaragaman strata sosial maupun golongan.Selain itu, kebersamaan saat mamundut(mengusung) barong dan rangda dalam ritual ini juga dapat membangkitkan dan memupuk rasa solidaritas, memperkuat rasa keakraban serta kerja samadi antara warga desa, sehingga satu dengan lainnya memiliki rasa saling memiliki, saling menghargai, dan saling menjaga.Semoga tradisi ngerebeg dapat terus dilestarikan, guna menjaga khazanah warisan seni dan budaya daerah.
