Saya sangat mengagumi budaya Tenganan Pegringsingan. Daerah ini bisa menjadi model dan salah satu sumber inspirasi Bali untuk mempertahankan adat budaya yang didalamnya tercakup mempertahanankan kelestarian alam, kelestarian hutan, kelestarian keberadaan tanah adat dan kelestarian tinggalan-tinggalan budaya.
Tenganan, untuk saya pribadi, sangat inspiratif dalam belajar nilai-nilai lokal genius yang diterapkan leluhurnya hingga hari ini. Saya juga mengagumi masyarakatnya yang berhasil mempertahankan dan melestarikan cakupan tanah adat serta menjaga hutan desa yang diitari perbukitan sepanjang waktu berabad-abad hingga hari ini.
Masyarakatnya mempunyai tata cara ketat dalam menjaga dan melestarikan keutuhan bentuk bagunanan dan struktur serta kawasan suci, bagi ‘Prahyangan’ juga ‘Palemahan’ yang dipertahankan sesuai aslinya menembus tiap-tiap zaman.
Potensi madu lebah, sajeng tuak, ketrampilan tenun kain, ketrampilan anyam dari ‘bun ata’, perawanan pura, bale agung, patemon-patemon, gamelan kuno, kesusastraan dan tradisi lontar, dan ritus-ritus kuno tetap terlaksana hingga kini pada situs situs tinggalan budaya di desa Tenganan.
Jujur, titiang mengagumi Tenganan, yang selaras alam dan pola kemasyrakatannya dijalankan berdasarkan Kalender Tenganan. Beda sasih dengan daerah di luar Tenganan, Bali pada umumnya penaggalan sasihnya menggunakan kalender masehi. (Tenganan Pegringsingan 3 Januari 2020)
