Gumam mustakim terhadap carut marutnya penanganan pagebluk serta irama alt-rock menjadi faktor vital ketertarikan Richart Volx untuk menggarap ulang (remake) tembang cukup lawas “sleep dream ripEAT” milik Bisinggama.
“Kebetulan saya lumayan karib dengan Daniel Mardhany alias Bisinggama dan menyukai karyanya ‘sleep Dream ripEAT’ dengan liriknya yang tulus, jujur, dan polos,” ungkap Volx. “Sangat pas dengan kondisi belakangan ini, di musim pandemi, bencana separah begini diurus dengan manajemen nan acak adut, kian menambah masalah—ya personal, ya sosial—dari besar menjadi kolosal.”
Volx mengajukan diri untuk mengoprek kembali komposisi milik Mardhany tersebut, menggiringnya dari nuansa nugaze menuju mendayunya dream pop. Dan Mardhany mengangguk senang.
“Entah mengapa, pada saat awal-awal penggarapan ulang berlimpah muncul di kepala nada-nada dan nuansa Bali yang kuat,” tambah Volx, “dari situlah mulanya saya lalu berminat mengajak Soul And Kith untuk berkolaborasi menggarap ulang single tersebut.” Gayung bersambut, Soul And Kith mengiyakan untuk berkolaborasi. Mereka sangat tertarik untuk lebih jauh berkelana untuk mulai merambah musik Electronica, wilayah yang belum pernah mereka jamah sebelumnya.
Alunan baroque pop serta dendang kental nuansa teatrikal Aik yang dibalut gitar atmosferik dari Ardy lalu berbaur dengan susunan irama ketukan dari analog mesin drum Volx dengan harmoni sintetik synth menjadikan “sleep dream ripEAT” sebentuk formula anyar ala Richart Volx x Soul and Kith.
