Bagai politikus saja. Remaja putra dan putri ini berbicara saling adu argumen. Mereka tak hanya melontarkan gagasan, tetapi juga mengkritisi pendapat lawan, kemudian memberi solusi yang dianggap lebih tepat. Itulah suasana Lomba (Wimbakara) Debat Mabasa Bali, atau lomba berdebat dengan menggunakan Bahasa Bali serangkaian perayaan Bulan Bahasa Bali 2020 di Taman Budaya Provinsi Bali di Denpasar, Selasa 25 Februari 2020 siang.
Lomba Debat Mabasa Bali berlangsung di Kalangan Ayodya yang diikuti oleh 8 peserta merupakan perwakilan dari kabupaten dan kota di Bali. Saat itu Kabupaten Klungkung tidak mengirimkan perwakilannya. Masing-masing tim terdiri dari tiga anggota yang masih berstatus pelajar SMP ataupun SMA. Setiap sesi lomba menampilkan dua tim yang terdiri dari Tim Tungkas (tim yang membantah atau tidak setuju) dan Tim Cumpu (tim yang setuju sesuai topik yang disodorkan). Kedua tim itu kemudian adu argument yang topiknya tekait dengan Bahasa dan Aksara Bali
Menariknya, masing-masing tim itu saling mengajukan gagasan, melontarkan pertanyaan, sekaligus kritik tentang keberadaan bahasa dan akrasa Bali yang menjadi topic debat. Dengan menggunakan Bahasa Bali halus, Tim Tungkas dan Tim Cumbu itu mengungkap keberadaan Bahasa dan Aksara Bali kini yang kurang diminati anak muda, lalu membeberkan akar permasalahannya serta memberikan solusi. Penampilan mereka sangat kreatif, sehingga seperti menyaksikan sebuah pertunjukan seni drama saja.
Topik diberikan oleh panitia, lalau dipelajari masing-masing tim dengan merumuskan mosi. Setelah sampai di tempat lomba, lalu diundi. “Kami terkendala dalam berdebat yang menggunakan bahasa Bali halus. Jujur, mabahasa Bali halus itu kami kurang lancar. Terkadang tahu bahasanya, tetapi susah menyampaikan. Contohnya, ketika kami mengatakan aksara Bali tenget dan lainnya,” kata Tata Pradnya siswa SMAN1 Gianyar seagai perwalikan Kabupaten Gianyar.
Selain lomba debat, pada Selasa (25/2) ini juga digelar Lomba Ngwacen Lontar yang berlangsung di Kalangan Angsoka yang diikuti oleh 9 peserta yang juga merupakan perwakilan dari kabupaten dan kota di Bali. Lomba ini juga menarik, karena masing-masing peserta membaca lontar secara berkesinambungan, bukan berulang-ulang. Artinya, lontar dengan ceritera “Sigir Jelema Tuah Asibak” itu dibaca oleh peserta pertama, hingga terakhir.
Dalam waktu 10 menit, peserta yang membaca paling banyak dapat membaca, berpeluang sebagai pemenang. Selain itu, tentu menjadi pertimbangan dewan juri pula adalah intonasi, ketepatan bacaan, penampilan dan lainnya. Lontar ini juga disiapkan panitia, sehingga kepiawaian membaca lontar menjadi hal utama.
Kasi Inventarisasi dan Pemeliharaan Dokumentasi Budaya Dinas Kebudataan Provinsi Bali, Made Mahesa Yuma Putra, SS.,M.Si mengatakan, lomba ngwacen lontar dan lomba debat mabasa Bali ini serangkaian dengan kegiatan Bulan Bahasa Bali 2020. Kegiatan ini sebagai upaya melestarikan tradisi, sehingga melibatkan peserta dari tingkat SMP hingga kejenjang yang lebih tinggi. “Tujuannya agar bahasa dan aksara Bali itu tetap lestari dan ajeg,” katanya.
Melalui ngwacen lontar ini, jelas Mahesa, generasi muda akan lebih mudah belajar makekawin atau matembang, sehingga nilai-nilai yang ada dalam naskah lontar itu bisa diserap, baik itu nilai etika, moral dan budi pekerti yang ada dalam lontar itu. Sementara untuk lomba debat itu mengajak generasi muda untuk membahas apa yang menjadi kendala dan tantangan untuk pelestarian bahasa dan aksara Bali. “Dengan tema dan topik yang diberikan oleh panitia, masing-masing peserta membahas lalu diperdebatkan,” imbuhnya.
Mahesa mengatakan, dari debat itu akan dapat meningkatkan penguasaan bahasa dan aksara Bali khususnya pada generasi muda, sebagai ajang generasi muda memberikan suatu solusi pemahaman dan melestarikan bahasa dan aksara Bali, serta adanya semangat generasi muda untuk tidak malu berbahasa Bali.
