“Setara”, Monumen Pandemi Dialog Dini Hari
Pandemi 2020 menyisakan satu kenangan spesial untuk Dialog Dini Hari. Band asal Bali ini, merilis Extended Play (EP) baru sebagai monumen pengingat akan peristiwa ini. Judulnya “Setara”. EP ini berisi empat buah lagu, dua di antaranya sudah dilepas terlebih dulu sebagai single, Kulminasi II dan Garis Depan. Setara dirilis pada Jumat, 3 Juli 2020, menyertakan dua lagu lagi, yakni Pemelukmu dan Atas Nama Cinta.
Sebuah proses yang unik. EP ini dibangun oleh sisa-sisa bensin yang masih besar, paska Dialog Dini Hari merilis album penuh Parahidup di penghujung 2019 lalu. “Kami nggak bisa diam orangnya, ide-ide mengalir terus,” kata Pohontua, gitaris dan vokalis Dialog Dini Hari, dan perlu diketahui, band ini juga diperkuat oleh Brozio Orah (bas, synthesizer dan vokal) dan Putu Deny Surya (drums).
Pandemi yang mengharuskan hidup menjadi pelan, justru jadi pengalaman baru bagi tiga orang personil Dialog Dini Hari. Mereka memaksimalkan studio rumah masing-masing untuk merekam dan mengerjakan “Setara”. “Awalnya, hanya rilis single saja, tetapi kemudian keterusan menggarap beberapa lagu lain. Akhirnya jadilah “Setara” ini,” ucap Pohontua senang.
Secara konsep utuh, “Setara” adalah refleksi kolektif Dialog Dini Hari akan keadaan yang menghampiri kemanusiaan. “Sebagai seorang penulis, aku mencoba merangkum tatanan baru manusia. Ada hal-hal signifikan yang bisa dilihat di depan mata, bagaimana orang bahu-membahu, bagaimana semua lini berjalan dengan sangat dinamis,” jelasnya tentang ide dasar yang menjadi napas dominan Setara.
Pohontua menambahkan, mungkin terlihat biasa saja, tetapi ada hal-hal baru yang bisa kita pegang bahwa manusia diingatkan untuk kembali ke dasar, sesuatu yang sebenarnya ada di dalam diri kita. Bahwa manusia tetap bergantung kepada yang lainnya. “Empat lagu di Setara mencerminkan ide ini,” imbuhnya.
Secara teknis, ada sebuah percobaan baru juga dilakukan. Brozio Orah, mengambil peran vokal utama di lagu Pemelukmu. “Pemelukmu adalah lagu lama sebenarnya. Di Parahidup, dia sudah mulai bernyanyi. Dan dia adalah penyanyi yang bagus. Ketika menggarap lagu ini, dengan bongkar pasang aransemen yang kita buat, kami sepakat bahwa versi yang akhirnya kami rilis menampilkan vokalnya,” jelas Pohontua.
Selain itu, di lagu Atas Nama Cinta, Dialog Dini Hari juga mengundang Lyta Lautner dari Soulfood dan Bonita dari Bonita and the Hus Band untuk mengisi vokal latar. Bonita merekam suaranya di rumahnya di Salatiga, Jawa Tengah. Pola rekaman jarak jauh, memang menjadi solusi selama pandemi. Hasrat berkarya juga tidak bisa dibendung begitu tantangan jarak bisa dicarikan solusi. Setara menghidupi momen ini. Meski kemudian, metodenya bisa jadi tidak lagi diulang oleh Dialog Dini Hari.
Band bekerja bagaikan tim, mulai dari konsep sampai produksi teknis. “Ini sekali sajalah, selama pandemi. Kondisinya memang mengharuskan kami beradaptasi. Hasilnya, memang tidak kalah dengan biasanya. Tapi, sebagai sebuah tim, rasanya kami harus bekerja, diskusi, berargumen, hal-hal begitu merupakan landasan proses kreasi Dialog Dini Hari. Setelah ini selesai, kami akan kembali ke studio dan melakukan hal sebagaimana biasanya,” tutup Pohontua.
Dan di situlah kemudian Setara, sebagai sebuah monumen, punya kemasan yang komplit. “Setara” akan dirilis diberbagai platform digital dan versi fisiknya yang melibatkan paket bundle dengan kaos eksklusif sudah tersedia di www.dialogdinihari.com dan beberapa rekanan retailer fisik.
