Ubud Village Jazz Festival 2020 Dibatalkan
Ubud Village Jazz Festival (UVJF) tahun 2020 dibatalkan. Ajang festival jazz bersekala internasional di Bali yang sudah berlangsung 7 kali berturut-turut sejak 2013 itu, rencananya digelar pada tanggal 14 dan 15 Agustus 2020, akhirnya ditunda. “Kami sebagai salah satu event Internasional tahunan yang diselenggarakan di Bali, dengan alasan krisis kesehatan diakibatkan pandemi global Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19), telah mengambil sikap untuk membatalkan perhelatan tahun ini,” kata Anom Darsana.
Anom Darsana, festival director yang juga co-founder UVJF itu mengatakan, Covid-19 begitu telak memukul peradaban dunia. Nyaris seluruh sendi kehidupan di seluruh dunia tidak luput dari ekses yang ditimbulkan. Wabah Covid-19 ini tak hanya menghantam perekonomian, seperti hotel, restaurant dan toko-toko, namun juga event-event, bisnis hiburan dari mulai sekala terbesar hingga UMKM “dipaksa” untuk sekencang-kencangnya mengikat pinggang. “Semoga segala sesuatunya menjadi lebih baik dan kita bisa memulai lagi tahun depan, 2021,” harapnya.
Yuri Mahatma, musisi dan juga co-founder mengakui, sebenarnya banyak pihak yang menyarankan agar alih-alih dibatalkan, lebih baik ditunda namun masih dalam tahun 2020 dengan harapan Covid19 sudah mereda dalam beberapa bulan ke depan. “Namun, kami mempertimbangkan beberapa aspek,” ujarnya.
Beberapa aspek itu adalah, pertama, kalaupun benar membaik dalam beberapa bulan kedepan, akan tetap memerlukan waktu untuk masa recovery. “Dalam periode ini, semua orang akan berhati-hati dan berhemat dan perlahan bangkit dari keterpurukan ekonomi. Kedua, ini lebih ke alasan moral, kami merasa adalah langkah yang bijaksana apabila kita semua ikut prihatin dan empati kepada saudara-saudara kita yang jauh lebih membutuhkan bantuan,” tutupnya.
