Balian Band Tampilkan Spirit Musik Album Pertama “Kingdom of Dogs”
Kancah permusikan Bali, di tengah pandemi akhir-akhir ini, masih bergeliat. Buktinya, kelompok musik yang menamai dirinya Balian melahirkan sebuah album. Kelompok musik yang terbentuk di Pulau Dewata pada 2009 silam, melalui sebuah proses kreatif jatuh-bangun yang panjang dan memutuskan untuk membalut perjalanannya yang telah sebelas tahun lamanya dengan menelurkan album pertama bertajuk “Kingdom of Dogs”
Edrward, salah satu pentolan Balian menuangkan ide dan pikirannya dalam menggarap lagu-lagu yang kesemuanya bisa dinikmati pada album ini. “Ada sebelas lagu di dalam album ini yang saya ciptakan. Sebagian memang dituliskan liriknya oleh beberapa teman, tetapi dari segi musik saya yang menciptakan keseluruhannya,” ungkapnya.
Karya penciptaan tidak jauh-jauh terinspirasi dari apa yang menjadi pergumulannya di dalam kehidupan ini. “Semua lagu yang ada di album ini adalah sebuah kombinasi dari segala perjalanan dan cerita tentang hidup, dan sebuah hubungan, cinta dan keseluruhan dunia yang berubah sedemikian cepat,” bebernya.
Kelompok musik yang terdiri dari dua orang asing, warga Negara Australia ini mampu bertengger di blantika musik tanah air. Sebut saja Edward (Gitar dan Vokal), Aaron (Gitar), mampu melebur apik dalam kreativitas musiknya dengan dua orang personil lainnya yang notabene adalah putra kebanggaan Bali, Eddie Surya (Bass), Gembull (Drum).
Peluncuran Album pertama Balian ini digarap apik oleh Erick EST, Sutradara kondang Tanah Air. Lelaki yang telah malang melintang di kancah perfilman selama dua puluh tahun lamanya ini, membuatkan konsep khusus ajang ini dengan menggunakan metode live streaming, yang tidak pada umumnya. Melainkan khusus dengan menampikan semacam “film pendek” dari lagu-lagu Balian yang telah hits sebelumnya berjudul “Beautiful Mess” dan juga lagu-lagu Balian yang baru dapat dinikmati oleh publik, berjudul “Warped Reality” dan “Kingdom of Dogs”.
Bukan hanya itu, live streaming ini pun dibuat semakin menarik dengan adanya obrolan-obrolan antara musisi dalam mengenang sepak terjang semasa hidup almarhum Made Navicula, yang dulu pernah mengisi bass di setiap lagu-lagu Balian ini. “Konsep live streaming Balian ini adalah bercerita. Menceritakan segala hal dari lagu-lagunya itu, menghubungkannya seperti puzzle. Live streaming ini juga menyertakan juga kawan-kawan yang turut berkontribusi dalam menciptakan lagu itu, dan memainkannya.” Seru Erick EST.
Di dalam pelaksanaannya, memang tampak pengambilan gambar live streaming Balian ini digarap sesempurna mungkin melalui sekuen yang ada, dari awal hingga akhir. “Pengambilan gambar dilakukan tidak hanya satu panggung, melainkan dibangunnya beberapa scene dalam live streaming ini, dari awal Balian, memainkan lagunya di dalam studio, dan juga hingga beraksi di panggung,” tambahnya.
Konser live streaming dalam rangka peluncuran album yang direkam di Antida Recording Studio ini, diadakan sukses di Antida Music Productions, Jumat, 12 Juni 2020 tepat pukul 19.00 Wita. [B/*]
