Perpaduan Tari Baris dan Legong Pada Baris Kekupu
Kota Denpasar sebagai Kota Pusaka Budaya menyimpan berbagai hal unik tentang seni budaya. Salah satunya adalah Tari Baris Kekupu yang masih eksis hingga saat ini. Kali ini, serangkaia pelaksanaan Denfest ke-13 Tahun 2020 pada mata acara bertajuk Ruang Pusaka turut membahas Baris Kekupu pada Jumat (11/12) malam. Dalam kesempatan tersebut turut hadir dua orang narasumber yang berkompeten di bidangnya. Yakni Maestro Seni Tari, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Dibia dan Ni Ketut Arini.
Prof. Dr. I Wayan Dibia menjelaskan, Tari Baris Kekupu merupakan salah satu kesenian tari yang berusia cukup tua. Dimana, keberadaannya tentu menjadi ciri khas Kota Denpasar yang sudah aktif di tarikan sebelum tahun 1938. “Jadi sejak awal keberadaan Tari Baris Kekupu memang berada di Kota Denpasar dan penelitianya dilaksanakan mulai tahun 1938 dan diperkirakan sudah aktif ditarikan sebelum tahun tersebut,” jelasnya
Jika dilihat secara struktur bahwa Tari Baris Kekupu memadukan dua jenis tarian sekaligus, yakni Tari Baris dan Tari Legong. “Kota Denpasar memang identik dengan Tari Baris, bahkan banyak Kesenian Tari Baris yang lahir di Denpasar dan Denpasar juga menjadi pusat seni Tari Legong,” ujar Dibia
Ni Ketut Arini menjelaskan, Tari Baris Kekupu menggambarkan sekelompok kupu-kupu yang sedang bermain di Taman Bunga dengan gerak lemah gemulai yang memperlihatkan keelokan warna warni dari sayapnya. Tarian ini dipentaskan dalam durasi kurang lebih 10 menit. Tari Baris Kekupu merupakan salah satu dari sekian banyak jenis Tari Baris di Bali yang ditarikan berkelompok.
Arini menjelaskan bahwa pada awalnya Tari Baris Kekupu ini ditarikan oleh penari laki-laki, seperti Tari Baris pada umumnya. Kemudian digantikan oleh penari anak-anak perempuan karena didalam Tari Baris Kekupu ini terdapat unsur-unsur Tari Legong, hal ini merupakan salah satu keunikan yang terdapat pada Tari Baris Kekupu. “Idenya terinspirasi dari hiasan kupu-kupu pada damar kurung yang dipasang saat upacara Mamukur, yang merupakan lambang dari Dewa yang menyinari perjalanan atma yang telah lepas dari unsur Panca Maha Bhuta menuju ke alamnya masing-masing,” ujarnya
Secara historis, kata Arini, Tari Baris Kekupu yang ada di Banjar Lebah, Desa Sumerta Kaja diciptakan sekitar tahun 1930-an oleh seorang seniman kakebyaran di Bali yang berasal dari daerah Denpasar, yaitu I Nyoman Kaler (Alm.) dan dibantu dengan I Wayan Rindi (Alm.) yang merupakan seniman sekaligus putra daerah yang berasal dari Banjar Lebah. Tari Baris Kekupu diciptakan atas dasar permintaan dari Griya Gede Lebah (sekarang bernama Griya Gede Tegal Jinga), Desa Sumerta Kaja, agar diciptakannya suatu tari wali untuk mengiringi Upacara Mamukur. “Hingga saat ini demi menjaga kelestarian Tari Baris Kekupu yang merupakan khasanah budaya yang dimiliki Banjar Lebah, Tari Baris Kekupu kini ditarikan juga pada saat Upacara Piodalan di Banjar Lebah yang dilaksanakan rutin setiap satu tahun sekali,” pungkasnya.
